Photography of textiles in the e-commerce industry

Professional presentation of textile products is crucial in online sales. When it comes to pillows, mattresses, inserts, children’s mats or sleep accessories, customers cannot touch the material, check its softness or assess the actual thickness of the product. That is why photographs should reflect the quality, texture, proportions, intended use and key features of the product.
At Snapshot Studio, we carried out a photo shoot for textile products – pillows and mattresses – designed specifically for online sales, marketplaces and e-commerce stores. During the session, we created traditional packshots on a light background, detail shots, product infographics and lifestyle images showing the products in their natural usage context.
Product photography of textiles for e-commerce and Amazon
Textile products require a different approach than typical hard objects. Pillows, mattresses and soft accessories can change shape, crease or look different depending on how they are arranged. For this reason, careful product preparation before the photoshoot is essential.
In this project, we focused on presenting the products in an aesthetic, natural and attractive way for potential buyers, while avoiding an overly artificial appearance. Customers ordering online should see the product at its best, while still maintaining authenticity.
The photos were created for use in:
- online stores,
- Amazon product listings,
- Allegro offers,
- online catalogues,
- promotional materials,
- sales campaigns,
- social media graphics.

Packshots on a white background – clear product presentation
The session was based on product photos on a light background, known as packshots. This is one of the key types of photography in e-commerce, as it presents the product in a simple, neutral and clear way.In the case of pillows and mattresses, packshots allow customers to quickly assess:- the shape of the product,- its proportions and thickness,- the colour of the material,- the edge finishing,- the stitching method,- the overall quality of workmanship,- the actual appearance of the product without unnecessary distractions.A well-made packshot should not be a random shot on a light background. The product must be properly positioned, aligned, well lit and shown from an angle that makes it immediately understandable to the viewer. In the case of soft textiles, it is also extremely important to correct creases, but in a way that does not make the product look artificial.
Details that build trust in the product
In the case of textile products, customers often pay close attention to details. Features such as the material, type of stitching, texture, filling thickness and edge finishing can significantly influence the purchase decision. For this reason, we also captured close-up details during the photoshoot. These images show the quality of workmanship up close and are an excellent addition to traditional packshots. They are especially important for products distinguished by comfort, softness, safe use or precise finishing. What should be included in detail photos?
During photoshoots of textile products, we most often capture:- the structure of the fabric,- stitching and seams,- the texture of the material,- the thickness of the product,- close-ups of the filling,- zippers, labels or other functional elements,- the shape after unfolding or folding,- how the product is adapted to its intended use. This type of photography increases the credibility of the offer. Customers do not have to guess what the product looks like up close, because they receive clear visual information already at the product gallery stage.
Product infographics – a quick presentation of key features
In addition to standard photographs, we also created infographics presenting the product features. This is an important element of modern online sales, especially on platforms such as Amazon, where customers often make decisions in a matter of seconds. An infographic combines a product image with a short and clear message. This allows us to quickly draw attention to the most important advantages without the need to search through a long description. In the case of pillows and mattresses, infographics can highlight, for example:- soft and comfortable filling,- safe materials,- ergonomic shape,- suitability for use in various situations,- ease of cleaning,- intended use for children or adults,- product dimensions,- how the product is used,- available colour variants.Good infographics should be clear, easy to read and consistent with the brand’s visual identity. The goal is not to overload the graphic with too much text, but to communicate the most important selling points quickly and effectively.
Lifestyle photos – the product shown in action
Standard product photos are often not enough for the customer to fully understand how the product can be used. That is why lifestyle photos were also a key element of the photo shoot, presenting the pillows and mattresses in a natural setting. In the case of textiles, lifestyle photos are extremely important because they help the viewer imagine the product being used in everyday situations. Arrangement photography shows not only the appearance of the product, but also its functionality, size and emotional value. Why do lifestyle photos increase sales effectiveness?
Lifestyle photos help to:1. present the real-life use of the product,2. better show its size and proportions,3. build positive associations with the brand,4. increase the attractiveness of the product gallery,5. distinguish the offer from competitors,6. make it easier for the customer to make a purchase decision. For many consumers, a photo showing the product in use is more convincing than the description alone. This is especially important when the product is intended to offer comfort, safety, softness or relaxation.
How do we photograph textile products?
Textile photography requires proper preparation. Before taking the photos, the products are carefully arranged, smoothed and positioned in a way that preserves their natural shape. In the case of pillows and mattresses, it is important that they do not appear either too flat or overly perfect. The product must look visually attractive while still remaining authentic.During the photo shoot, we focus on:- precise arrangement of the product,- natural shape and volume,- control of creases,- even lighting,- accurate colour reproduction,- visibility of the material texture,- a clean white background,- a soft shadow that gives the image depth,- consistency across the entire photo series. After the session, the photos move on to the selection and professional editing stage. Retouching includes, among other things, cleaning the background, removing minor imperfections, colour correction and preparing the files according to the requirements of the online store or sales platform.
What do professional photos bring to the client in sales?
Carefully created product photos have a direct impact on the attractiveness of an offer. In online sales, images are a key element that influences the customer’s decision to click, stay on the page and add the product to the cart.- increase trust in the brand,- improve the first impression on the product page,- reduce the number of customer enquiries,- present the product’s features more clearly,- reduce the risk of returns caused by unclear presentation,- distinguish the offer on platforms such as Amazon, Allegro and in an online store,- create consistent visual brand communication. For products such as pillows and mattresses, it is crucial to show comfort, material quality and the way the product is used. The customer needs to quickly understand why a given product meets their expectations.
Product photography for manufacturers and online stores
At Snapshot Studio, we carry out photo shoots for various brands, manufacturers, distributors and online sellers. We create product photos, packshots, arrangement photos, infographics and materials that support sales on e-commerce platforms.A photo shoot of textile products shows how important a comprehensive approach to presenting an offer really is. A packshot increases clarity, a detail shot reveals quality, an infographic presents the features, and lifestyle photography demonstrates the product in practical use. Only the combination of these elements makes it possible to create a gallery that effectively supports the sales process. If you offer pillows, mattresses, children’s textiles, sleep accessories or other soft products, professional product photography can significantly influence how your offer is perceived and increase its effectiveness in online sales.
