Glassware in product photography

At Snapshot Studio, we carried out another photo shoot created with online sales in mind. This time, our lens focused on glass products from the VaporShop brand, for which we prepared professional product packshots on a white background. These materials were created for e-commerce use, so they can be used on websites, in online stores, and on sales platforms such as Amazon.
Photographing glass products requires particular precision. Glass tends to reflect light and creates reflections, refractions, and transparency effects, which is why such images must be produced with the highest level of care. The key elements include setting up the right lighting, controlling reflections, preserving the natural appearance of the material, and at the same time showing the shape, details, and quality of the product. That is why professional packshots are an extremely important element of an effective product presentation in online sales.

Why are product photos on a white background important in online sales?
Product photos on a clean white background are one of the key standards in the e-commerce industry. They are clear, versatile, and meet the requirements of many sales platforms. In the case of marketplaces such as Amazon, the main product image often has to be taken on a pure white background, without additional accessories, text, or decorative elements.
A well-made product photo allows the customer to quickly assess the item. The customer can see its shape, proportions, color, finish, and most important details. In online sales, a photo often replaces direct physical contact with the product, which is why it must be as clear and reliable as possible.
Professional product photos support:
- increased trust in the brand and store,
- improved first impression on the product page,
- better differentiation of the offer from competitors,
- reduced number of returns caused by unclear product presentation,
- increased chances of clicks and purchases,
- maintaining a consistent visual appearance across the entire product range.

Photo shoot for VaporShop – glass products in their purest form
In collaboration with the VaporShop brand, we focused on creating product images that are aesthetic, technically refined, and sales-oriented. The main goal was to produce packshots that could be used in an online store as well as on platforms such as Amazon. We photographed the glass products in a way that preserved their natural appearance while eliminating accidental reflections and unwanted glare. With glass, it is easy to end up with images that look flat, too dark, or visually chaotic. That is why proper light shaping and achieving a clear product outline were essential. What do we focus on when photographing glass?
Glass photography is one of the more complex areas of product photography. Transparent materials do not behave in the same way as traditional matte or colored objects. It is not enough to simply place the product on a white background and take a photo. Every reflection, shadow, and line matters.During this type of shoot, we focus primarily on:1. Lighting control – glass requires precise lighting that enhances its shape without creating unwanted reflections.2. Visibility of contours – a transparent object must be clearly separated from the white background so that it does not “disappear” in the image.3. Natural material representation – the image should clearly show that the object is made of glass, but without excessive contrast or an artificial look.4. Cleanliness of the object – every tiny speck of dust, fingerprint, or small streak is visible on glass, so the product must be carefully prepared before the shoot.5. Consistency of shots – products from the same line should be photographed from a similar angle, at the same scale, and in a consistent style.
Product packshots for Amazon and other sales platforms
Platforms such as Amazon and other e-commerce services have strictly defined standards for product photography. The main image must be clear, well-lit, sharp and placed on a white background. The product should occupy the appropriate part of the frame, and the image should present it without unnecessary details. At Snapshot Studio, we create product photography in line with the latest e-commerce guidelines. We focus not only on the visual appearance, but also on the functionality of the images in the context of sales. Proper framing, proportions, retouching and file formatting are essential, as they affect the quality of product presentation on different devices – from desktop computers to smartphones. How do professional photos influence customers?
For brand owners and online store owners, professional product photos are an investment in better sales. High-quality images are not just an “aesthetic addition”. They are one of the key elements of a product page. Thanks to them, the client benefits from:- ready-to-use assets for an online store and sales platforms,- a consistent presentation style across the entire product range,- improved visual quality of the offer,- greater brand credibility,- photographs adapted to online sales standards,- materials that can also be used in catalogues, advertisements and B2B communication. For glass products, professional photography is even more important, as it allows the quality of workmanship, transparency, shine, shape and details to be shown clearly – all of which can influence the purchasing decision.
How do we create professional packshots at Snapshot Studio?
Every product photography session begins with a thorough understanding of the item and the purpose for which the images will be used. We approach products intended for online sales differently from those prepared for catalogues, and differently again from materials created for advertising purposes. In the case of the VaporShop project, the main goal was to create clean and technically precise packshots designed for e-commerce.The production process usually includes:- preparing the products for the session and carefully cleaning them,- selecting the right background and positioning the product in the frame,- precisely setting up the lighting according to the specific material, such as glass and transparent elements,- taking test shots and correcting reflections and shadows,- capturing the final product shots,- professional post-production, including retouching, background adjustment, cleanliness improvements and detail refinement,- preparing files in formats that meet the client’s requirements. Thanks to this approach, the photographs are attractive, consistent and ready to be used in online sales.
Glass product photography – aesthetics, technique and sales
Glass products require photographs that are simple in form while accurately showing their real shape and quality. Lighting that is too intense may lead to overexposure, while lighting that is too weak can make the object unclear and difficult to read. That is why achieving the right balance is essential in glass photography. At Snapshot Studio, we combine our knowledge of product photography with a practical approach to online sales. Our goal is to create images that not only attract attention, but above all support sales. A packshot should be clear, professional and adapted to the requirements of sales platforms. The VaporShop example illustrates how important properly executed product photography is, even with seemingly simple shots on a bright background. Behind the final result are lighting control, technical preparation, retouching and knowledge of online sales standards.
